A prayer for my friends

                    A prayer for my friends

No matter what the world throws at you, may your heart be filled with love and may your mind always find peace.

Know the joy you bring to us and may that joy be multiplied a thousand times

when it comes back to you.

                                  With love.

The Wall

Up goes the wall

Ever higher

Ever wider.

Higher, build it higher

Lest we see

Their pain and suffering.

Wider, build it wider

Lest we hear their

Pained, weak cries.

Faster, build it faster

Before my conscience

Tells me no.

The wall complete

Is strong, high and wide.

Safely guarding mind

From unwanted thoughts

No word can penetrate

No image floods in

Safe is my mind, safe from the world

Safe in my space, no one come in.

Safe, so safe, or the illusion thereof

Too far removed, too far to care.

The Setting Sun

The sun is setting

It sets on us all.

Color gives way to darkness

Vibrance to silence.

Yet no one grieves

A setting sun,

Because all that lives knows best

That as we bid farewell with one hand,

With the other,

We hail the rising moon and stars.

The sun may set on us all,

But so too the moon and stars will rise

To take her place…

Obsession

Fascination abounds

For obsessions renowned.

Be polite, write a card, say ‘Thank you’,

Don’t confound.

So easily offended

When protocol is suspended.

As if struck across face

With white glove,

Kills white dove.

Peace defected

Offence unintended

So quickly escalated.

Too far out of control

Apologies insufficient

Groveling’s equally deficient.

Only option that’s left

Is to face this with deft.

The Following

Getting attention is easy

Maintaining it, not as breezy.

Sweet words, like honey

Draw bears and bees

From far and wide;

Though with humans money

Would as easily suffice.

The vibrant crowds

Disperse posthaste

Unless they’re given

A small foretaste

Of what’s to come,

Intrigue is sprung, they stay.

And so new following’s begun.
